The wifi on my Arris Modem TG1682G is disabled by my cable internet provider (Bright House now Spectrum/Charter). I am trying to find a way to bypass their disabling to enable the wifi, but am not quite sure where to look.

The reason I am seeking help is because I have a feeling they are limiting my current wireless routers (F9K1105 N450 Wireless Router) speed to 11mbps. Maybe my current router is only capable of handling up to 11mbps, not the 60mbps speed I'm paying for or maybe they really are limiting the speed of my Wireless router.

Any thoughts as to where I should start looking to bypass their disablement or do I have a shitty wireless router and need to upgrade?
