Plastic Beach is the studio/Mixtape Album by artist/Rapper/DJ Gorillaz, and Album has highlight a Pop, Rock, Rap sound. It was released/out on 2010 in English dialect, by some Music Recording Company, as the follow-up to last studio/Mixtape Album. Plastic Beach is the third studio album by English virtual band Gorillaz, released 3 March 2010 on Parlophone and Virgin Records. Conceived from an unfinished Gorillaz project called Carousel, the album was recorded during June 2008 to November 2009 and produced primarily by group co-creator Damon Albarn. Plastic Beach is the third studio album by British virtual band Gorillaz, released on 3 March 2010 by Parlophone and Virgin Records.

Gorillaz began as a lark but turned serious once it became Damon Albarn’s primary creative outlet following the slow dissolve of Blur. Delivered five years after the delicate whimsical melancholy of 2005’s Demon Days, Plastic Beach is an explicit sequel to its predecessor, its story line roughly picking up in the dystopian future where the last album left off, its music offering a grand, big-budget expansion of Demon Days, spinning off its cameo-crammed blueprint. Traces of Albarn’s Monkey opera can be heard, particularly in the hypnotic Mideastern pulse of “White Flag,” but Damon’s painstaking pancultural pop junk-mining no longer surprises -- when hip-hop juts up against Brit-pop, it’s expected -- yet it still has the capacity to delight no matter which direction the Gorillaz may swing. Lou Reed’s crotchety croak on “Some Kind of Nature” has the same kind of gravitational pull as Mos Def leading the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble through the intensely circling “Sweepstakes,” while the group reaches new heights of sparkling pop on “Superfast Jellyfish,” aided by the return of De La Soul -- the rappers who propelled “Feel Good Inc.” -- and an appearance from Gruff Rhys, the Super Furry Animals frontman who is an ideal fit for Gorillaz (possibly because SFA’s genre-bending pop and Pete Fowler artwork clearly paved the way for Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s collaboration). A common thread among all these tracks is that they find Albarn ceding the spotlight to his fellow musicians, preferring to be the puppetmaster behind the curtain, and Plastic Beach works best when he’s the composer and producer, finding hidden strengths within his guests -- having Mick Jones and Paul Simonon for the elastic title track, coaxing some powerful performances out of Bobby Womack -- but often when Albarn takes center stage his laconic drawl lets the air out of the balloon. Curiously, much of this arrives toward the beginning of the album, the record gaining momentum as it unspools, working toward its climax, but the overall album accentuates moody texture over pop hooks. This emphasis means Plastic Beach is the first Gorillaz album to play like a soundtrack to a cartoon -- which isn’t entirely a bad thing, because as Albarn grows as a composer, he’s a master of subtly shifting moods and intricately threaded allusions, often creating richly detailed collages that are miniature marvels. Ironically, these individual pieces don’t add up to an overall masterpiece, possibly because the narrative is convoluted and strained, getting in the way of the pure musical flow, but also because it’s hard not to shake the feeling that this is a transitional effort, pointing toward a day when Damon Albarn will feel no need to front a band, not even in a cartoon guise.

Biography

Everything began when Damon Albarn, the leader of britpop band Blur decided to realese some songs in mock hip-hop style, but not under his own name. His friend Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl, promised to help Albarn – that is how four pictured members of Gorillaz appeared. Later, when Albarn revealed that he was a creator of Gorillaz, he asked journalists if it was a good idea, but the ansewr was 'Only deaf didn't recognize Blur's singer characteristic voice yet'. For each Gorillaz member Albarn and Hewlett composed a full biography. For example, band's drummer Russel Hobbs was a respectful child from the School for Young Achievers, but then a demon possessed him and he mauled several other students. Gorillaz's frontmen 2D is Albarn's compatriot and, apart of singing, he has an interest in machinery. Bassist Murdoc Niccals's bad temper is explained by the fact 'he was dumped on his father's doorstep in infancy'. Japanese girl Noodle can't speak any English beyond the word 'noodle' and was sent to Gorillaz in a crate. In 2010 Gorillaz made their fans happy: the long-awaited album Plastic Beach was finally issued.

Albarn said he never expexted that everything would go so far. Gorillaz' first single, Clint Eastwood, was released on March 5, 2001. It became a smash hit and put Gorillaz into the global spotlight. Later that same month, their first full-length album, the self-titled Gorillaz, was released. It was sold over 7 million copies and earned Gorillaz an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band. Firstly, the musicians 'behind Gorillaz' were Damon Albarn, Del tha Funkee Homosapien and Dan the Automator. This trio had previously worked together on the song Time Keeps on Slipping, which became the predecessor of Gorillaz' music. Later, Albarn was colobrating with a lot of different artists, but Gorillaz' music remained the same – slow and light tunes, a mix of alternative rock, hip hop and rap, with a large number of other influences including electronica and pop. Cartoon clips became another Gorillaz' trademark. They usually contain humorous and often ridiculous storylines and imagery.

Soon after Gorillaz, a compilation of the B-sides from the first three singles, G-Sides, was released. It was followed by Laika Come Home, a remix album, containing most of the tracks from Gorillaz reworked by Spacemonkeyz, was released in June 2002. But the waiting for the new album lasted for three years – Demon Days was released in May 2005. Two singles from it, Feel Good Inc and DARE, became succefull in world charts. In November 2007 new album D-Sides was realesed. Gorillaz also promised to go on a holographic world tour in 2007 and 2008 (the cartoon members were supposed to be shown as holograms on stage). But it turned out to be very expensive, and the Gorillaz' holograms were used only at the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 3, 2005 and at the Grammy Awards on February 8, 2006. In 2010 Gorillaz made their fans happy: the long-awaited album Plastic Beach was finally issued.
