Weird Serial Number Location. PostSun Mar 14, 2010 12:46 am. Bought a cub today, it's a 1951. Has a really good tag with plain 134,xxx serial number. I was looking it over and found the serial number was stamped on the flat implement mount pad between the bolt holes in the location pictured below.

Finding the Model and Serial on a Cub Cadet Series 1000 Riding Tractor
You're going to have to do a little work here. Lift up the seat and it should be located right under it. Look at the picture above and refer to the gray arrow indicating where the label is.

Alright, time to lift the hood. Go ahead and take a look at the Kohler engine. The model and spec number should be located on the left side. Take a look at the picture above for reference.

Go ahead and lift up the hood. If you were sitting on the rider, it would be on the back of the engine (the part facing you). See where the arrow is pointing? That's where the model and spec numbers should be.
